More Than 5,000 Wexford Carers to Receive €2,000 Support Grant

Over five thousand people in the county are set to benefit from A new Carer’s Grant payment

The annual grant, worth €2,000 per person being cared for, is available to full-time carers and will be paid automatically to those receiving Carer’s Allowance, Carer’s Benefit, or Domiciliary Care Allowance

In total, more than 147,000 carers nationwide will receive the payment, with funding of around €336 million.

Further improvements to the Carer’s Allowance, including changes to income thresholds, are due to come into effect in July.
