Bill Kelly, of Kelly's Resort Hotel, Rosslare

More than €1.4 million has been approved for coastal protection works at two locations in County Wexford.

The Office of Public Works has approved €566,666, excluding VAT, for Wexford County Council to carry out rock revetment coastal protection works along the frontage of Kelly’s Resort Hotel in Rosslare.

A further €891,875, excluding VAT, has been approved for works at Kilpatrick Beach, including the construction of a 55-metre revetment structure using rock armour and improvements to track access.

The works at both locations will involve construction methods and heavy rock armour typically used in coastal defence projects.
