National Learning Network in The Faythe to host open evening this Thursday

The National Learning Network in The Faythe, Wexford, is opening its doors this Thursday, August 27th, giving people an opportunity to find out more about the education, training and employment supports available at the centre.

The National Open Evening will take place from 5pm to 7pm at the Swan Training Centre.

Visitors will have the chance to meet students and staff, tour the centre and learn more about the range of courses and progression opportunities available.

The National Learning Network provides individualised education, training and employment support for people with a range of needs, including disabilities, illness, injury, learning challenges, mental health challenges and neurodivergent learners.

Its programmes are designed around the individual, helping participants to build confidence, develop new skills and progress towards further education, training or employment.

Support can include work placements, job-seeking skills, individual goal-setting and guidance tailored to each person's needs.

This year's national open evening carries the theme #MoreThanAJob, highlighting the wider impact of education and training, including confidence, independence, community, purpose and opportunity.

The Wexford centre's programmes are generally open to people aged 16 and over, although eligibility requirements vary depending on the individual course.

Speaking about the open evening, Vivienne Brady and Cat Hogan from the National Learning Network are encouraging anyone who may benefit from the services to come along, meet the team and see what opportunities are available.
