New Ross has commemorated the life of Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith.
The last surviving sibling of President John F. Kennedy died last week. Members of Wexford County Council and the Dunbrody Famine Ship held a ceremony at the eternal flame on the quay side. Jean Kennedy Smith played an important role in attempts to end violence in Northern Ireland and always remembered her family connection with New Ross.
