New Ross councillor Michael Sheehan joins Independent Ireland

New Ross councillor Michael Sheehan has joined Independent Ireland and has been appointed the party’s spokesperson on Finance and Enterprise.

The move brings Independent Ireland’s number of elected councillors nationwide to 26.

The party says Councillor Sheehan’s experience in local government will strengthen its representation in County Wexford and nationally.

Independent Ireland leader Michael Collins is due in Wexford later today, where he and Councillor Sheehan are expected to speak further about the move and the party’s plans for the county.
