One of the biggest employers in the south east to shed 200 jobs
SIPTU says theNews of 200 job losses at the Bausch and Lomb plant in Waterford is a "devastating blow". The announcement was made at a meeting with staff this morning - remaining workers are facing a 20 per cent pay cut. The company says the cost reductions are needed to keep the plant open. Workers will be called in for discussions from next Tuesday. SIPTU rep Alan Dillon says they're entering consultations with the company.
