Philomena Murphy Named Volunteer of the Year for Wexford Tidy Towns Work

Philomena Murphy, chair of Wexford Tidy Towns, has been named Volunteer of the Year in recognition of her contribution to the local community.

Phil has dedicated years to Wexford Tidy Towns, helping lead efforts to make the town cleaner, greener and more attractive for residents and visitors.

The group’s work goes far beyond litter picking, with volunteers planting flowers, maintaining public spaces and supporting biodiversity projects. Their efforts reflect the commitment of volunteers working together to improve Wexford for everyone.

Phil joins John Bird from Wexford Volunteer Centre on Morning Mix to discuss the award, the work involved in keeping Wexford looking its best, and why recognising volunteers matters.

Wexford Volunteer Centre connects people with local volunteering opportunities and supports community organisations in recruiting volunteers.
