Wexford County Council has approved planning permission for a major accessibility upgrade at Gorey Station. The project, backed by the National Transport Authority, includes the installation of a new footbridge with two 13-person lifts, platform extensions, and a new waiting shelter on Platform 2. Other improvements will include better signage, station lighting upgrades, and the addition of help points and induction loops. Construction is expected to begin by Autumn 2026, with a one-year timeline for completion. Iarnród Éireann’s accessibility program, which has already improved stations in Rathmore and Athy, continues to enhance rail services for all users.
