Rat 'the size of a jack russell dog' found in tipp
An American Swamp Rat the size of a Jack Russell dog is being rehabilitated in a Co Kildare animal sanctuary after being found in the wild. Rodney is 3 feet long and weighs 6 kilos. He was found in a swamp in Co Tipperary by a man walking his dog. He is currently being cared for by Dan Donoher of the Kildare Animal Foundation - who says he's a pretty chilled out rat, some of the time. "He's quite big, he's bigger than a Jack Russell dog" she said. "But he looks kind of like beavery looking". "In the pictures in The Sun he is very rat-looking, but you should see him in a video or real life - he looks like a beaver". "He's not very friendly, he does kind of warn us often - but he doesn't have much fear so he has been used to human contact at some stage" she added.
