Reduced VAT on hospitality to be extended

The reduced VAT rate will continue across the hospitality sector until next year and includes cinemas, theatres and museums.

The 9 percent rate, which was introduced as a Covid measure, has been extended until February 28th 2023, to help businesses cope with rising costs. It will cost the state 250 million euro, but Tourism Minister Catherine Martin says it will provide the industry with much needed stability
