Thousands of people came together at O'Driscoll Park over the weekend for Relay for Life Wexford 2026, a 24-hour event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
The annual relay celebrated cancer survivors, remembered those who have lost their lives to cancer, and stood in solidarity with people currently undergoing treatment. Teams kept the relay going throughout the day and night, highlighting the event's message that cancer never sleeps.
The weekend featured live entertainment, family activities, fundraising events and the emotional Candle of Hope Ceremony, where personalised candle bags were lit in memory of loved ones and in support of those affected by cancer.
Organised entirely by volunteers, Relay for Life Wexford continues to grow each year thanks to the dedication of local teams, businesses, sponsors and supporters. The event raises vital funds for cancer research, patient support services and advocacy provided by the Irish Cancer Society.
This year's event has already exceeded its €100,000 fundraising target, with donations continuing to come in after the weekend.
