Hospital visitors are being told not to bring flowers to patients due to the risk of infection they pose.
The Dublin Midlands Hospital Group says people are being asked not to bring fresh plants or flowers for safety reasons and to ensure optimum hygiene. Although the Ireland East Hospital Group which includes Wexford General does not have an official policy - it says flowers and plants may be restricted in some wards.
