A local councillor has slammed the government’s decision to increase school bus ticket prices and reintroduce exam fees, calling it poorly timed and out of touch with the struggles facing families.
Primary school bus tickets are set to increase from €50 to €100, while secondary school tickets will rise from €75 to €100.
The Junior Cert Fee of €109 and Leaving Cert fees of €116 are also to be re-introduced.
Rosslare Councillor Jim Codd expressed concern that at a time when families are already under financial pressure, these increases will only add to their burdens
