South East Technological University is celebrating the achievements of up to 3,600 graduates across its Waterford, Carlow, and Wexford campuses this week. From hard work and dedication to resilience and commitment, this is a milestone moment for SETU students. SETU President, Professor Veronica Campbell, congratulated the graduates, saying they embody knowledge, character, and compassion, and encouraged them to carry forward SETU’s ethos of empathy, leadership, and service. She also thanked families, friends, and staff for their support. This year sees a record 43 PhD graduands and the presentation of two honorary doctorates: John Treacy – for achievements in sport, leadership roles, and public service. Elizabeth Riordan-Coppin – for lifelong advocacy in human rights and social justice. 2025 also marks major milestones for SETU’s pharmacy and veterinary programmes, including approval for the Veterinary Places Activation Programme and accreditation of the new Master of Pharmacy (MPharm). These initiatives expand SETU’s professional education offerings and prepare graduates to lead in vital sectors.
