Shots fired at wexford town house
A shot was fire at a house in Wexford town during the early hours of this morning. The incident happened in the George's Street area. Gardai have launched an investigation after two people were lucky to escape any injuries when a shotgun was discharged at their house. The shot was fired at a downstairs room in the property on George's Street where the two people were sitting at around 1 O' clock this morning. Minor damage was caused to the house with only a window broken. The person who discharged the firearm escaped from the area. Gardai so far haven't recovered the weapon. A number of hours later a car was found burned out close to the Cleariestown area. Gardai haven't established it the two incidents are linked. Both scenes have been sealed off and a technical examination will be carried out later this morning. Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Georges Street or Cleariestown areas to contact them at Wexford Garda Station on 053 - 9165200.
