One of South East Radio's own is swapping the studio for the roads this August as she takes on a 150-kilometre running challenge for a worthy local cause.
Morning Mix producer, newsreader and journalist Brónagh Gately has set herself the goal of running 150 kilometres throughout the month of August to raise funds for Crossabeg Ballymurn GAA Club as part of the club's Oscars Fundraiser.
The challenge combines two things close to Brónagh's heart - keeping active and supporting the club where she first played Gaelic football at Under 12 level. Today, she's back wearing the Crossabeg Ballymurn colours as a member of the club's Gaelic for Mothers & Others team.
Every kilometre completed during August will help raise vital funds for the club, with all money raised going towards the continued development of Crossabeg Ballymurn GAA Club. The funds will help support the club's facilities, activities and future projects, ensuring it continues to be a thriving community hub for players and members of all ages.
Brónagh is encouraging anyone who can to support the fundraiser, no matter how big or small the donation. Those who are unable to donate can still lend their support by sharing the fundraiser and cheering her on as she works towards completing all 150 kilometres before the end of the month.
With plenty of early mornings, evening runs and determination ahead, it's set to be a busy August - but one that will make every kilometre count for the club she has proudly called home for many years.
