Wexford County Council has confirmed that a series of temporary road closures across south County Wexford are linked to the Harmony Solar Farm project.
Roads in areas including Murrintown, Ballindinas, Harveystown and Shelmalier Commons are affected by closures associated with trenching and ducting works.
The council says the roads will not be closed continuously for the full period covered by the notices.
Instead, closures will be phased as work progresses, with contractor Richard Nolan Civil Engineering expected to return to some roads on several occasions.
The works include trial holes, installation of ducting and connection pits, cable installation, commissioning, maintenance of temporary road surfaces and final permanent reinstatement.
Wexford County Council says the longer closure periods were published to avoid confusion caused by issuing repeated notices for the same roads.
A number of conditions have been attached to the works.
Signs must be erected one week before a road closes while residents must also receive advance notification through letter drops.
Roads are to reopen as soon as individual works are completed, multiple roads in the same area cannot be closed at the same time and diversion routes must remain open.
Local traffic and emergency vehicles must continue to be accommodated.
Where a bus route is affected the contractor must contact the relevant bus provider in advance.
Wexford County Council says it is working with Solar Harmony and Richard Nolan Civil Engineering to minimise disruption while allowing the power-generation project to progress.
The project is expected to be completed by March although the timetable is weather dependent.
