Steady increase in tourist numbers

There was a 2 per cent rise in the number of tourists coming to Ireland in February compared to the same period last year.

590 thousand people took a trip here last month, according to new CSO figures. There was a 9 per cent rise in visits by people from America and Canada - but British visitors fell by 2 per cent.
