Wallace says workers rights under threat
The rights of workers are currently under threat in Ireland. That's according to Wexford Independent TD Mick Wallace, speaking in the Dail yesterday evening. He was commenting on the Dunnes Stores closure in Gorey last week - where workers were not told the reason the store closed or if their jobs were secure. The store has now reopened pending an outcome to a dispute with Gorey Shopping Centre Management over an access door opened by Dunnes. Mick Wallace says workers are not being treated fairly by big business and that workers conditions are getting worse under this government. He says inequality is rising and that there's a problem if we don't have a mechanism at government level to deal with large businesses that treat Irish people like that.
