Family carers in Ireland are calling for urgent action following a Prime Time documentary highlighting the struggles of those caring for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Wexford Mother Jane Johnston a mother featured in the report. She has shared her concerns about the lack of planning for the future of these individuals, as many parents age without knowing what will happen to their children when they pass.
Currently, 2,000 people with intellectual disabilities are waiting for housing, with only 152 new places available this year.
