Christmas and New Year celebrations were disrupted for many in Wexford, as the county was among those hardest hit by flu over the festive season.
Last week, flu rates in Wexford were above the national average, alongside counties like Carlow, Kerry and Kilkenny.
The flu peaked by mid-December with over 2,000 confirmed cases nationwide, putting pressure on hospitals, including in Wexford.
The HSE continues to manage the strain with 670 patients on trolleys nationwide as of yesterday (January 7th) while also tackling other illnesses like RSV and Covid-19.
