Wexford soprano Ciara Breen brings world-class music to Kilmokea Gardens

A talented group of young musicians from across Europe will come together in Wexford this week for a special evening of music and song at The Conservatory at Kilmokea Gardens.

The concert, ‘Ciara Breen & Friends’, takes place on Friday, July 24th at 7pm, featuring Wexford soprano Ciara Breen alongside acclaimed young performers from the classical music world.

Ciara, from County Wexford, is currently studying at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London under Mary Wiegold. She began her musical journey with traditional Irish music through the Danescastle Music Group before developing her classical voice at the Kiltra School of Music and later at The Purcell School for Young Musicians in London, where she received the prestigious D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust Scholarship.

She has performed at some of the UK and Ireland’s leading venues, including Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southwark Cathedral, St Albans Cathedral and St James’s Palace, while also maintaining a strong connection with the Irish folk music scene.

Joining Ciara for the evening will be three internationally recognised young musicians:

  • Iván Cherednichenko Carrillo, a Cardiff-based cellist currently studying at the Royal College of Music, who has won multiple awards including Gregynog Young Musician of the Year 2023 and Pendine Young Musician of Wales 2025.
  • Leonid Lupascu, an award-winning Romanian pianist who began playing piano at just three years old and has gone on to win numerous international competitions. He has performed major works including Liszt and Rachmaninoff piano concertos and studied at some of Europe’s leading music institutions.
  • Dominic-Lucian Drutac, a Moldovan violinist studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London on a full scholarship. A former student of The Purcell School and Junior Guildhall, he has performed at Wigmore Hall and alongside internationally acclaimed violinists.

The evening promises a unique blend of classical, folk and seasonal music, showcasing the talent of some of the most exciting young performers from Ireland and beyond.

Ciara Breen & Friends takes place on Friday, July 24th at 7pm at The Conservatory, Kilmokea Gardens.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
