People across Wexford are being invited to take part in Africa Day 2026 celebrations this Sunday, May 24th, at Min Ryan Park in Killeens.
The free community event will run from 2pm to 5pm and promises an afternoon of culture, music, food and family entertainment.
Organised by FDYS with support from the Government of Ireland, Wexford County Council and the Local Authority Integration Team, the event aims to celebrate diversity, inclusion and community connection.
Visitors can enjoy an African fashion parade showcasing vibrant textiles and contemporary styles, along with food sampling featuring flavours from across the continent.
Live music, African drumming performances and a DJ will provide entertainment throughout the afternoon, while family-friendly activities including arts and crafts, children’s games and face painting will also take place.
Organisers say the event is open to all ages and are encouraging as many people as possible to come along and take part in the celebrations.
