Wexford's Young Kickboxing Stars Set Their Sights on World Glory

Three talented young kickboxers from County Wexford are preparing to represent Ireland at the World Kickboxing Championships in France this October, following remarkable success on both the national and international stage.

Brothers Dean O'Riordan (9) and Jesse O'Riordan (11) have already made a name for themselves as both Irish and World Champions. At last year's World Championships, the pair returned home with an incredible three medals each, showcasing their talent, determination and commitment to the sport.

Joining them on Team Ireland is Rowan Doyle (12), who also enjoyed an outstanding World Championships last year, winning two World Championship medals.

Although Dean and Rowan met in the final of the full-contact kickboxing competition at last year's championships, the trio are close friends who have trained together for around five years, pushing each other to improve every step of the way.

Behind the medals lies months of hard work, discipline and dedication, with the young athletes balancing school life alongside demanding training schedules and intensive fight camps.

Now, with the World Championships just months away, all three are looking forward to once again wearing the Irish jersey and competing against the best young kickboxers from around the globe.

Speaking on Morning Mix, Dean, Jesse, Rowan and Dean, Jesse's mother, Siobhan O'Riordan and Rowan's Mum Debbie shared their excitement about the upcoming championships, the sacrifices involved in reaching the top level, and their dreams of bringing more medals home to Wexford.

The trio's achievements are a source of great pride for their families, coaches and the wider Wexford community as they continue to prove that age is no barrier to success on the world stage.
