17 CANDIDATES SET TO STAND IN WEXFORD DAIL CONSTITUENCY

12 men and 5 women are vying to become Wexford’s next representative in the Dail.

5 seats are up for grabs with 3 current TDs looking to retain their positions.

Fianna Fail have 3 candidates – James Browne, Aoife Byrne and Malcolm Byrne, as do Fine Gael – with Michael D’Arcy, Julie Hogan and Paul Kehoe.

Ger Carthy, John Dwyer, Caroline Foxe and Emmett Moloney are the 4 independents, while Mick Wallace is standing under the banner of Independents 4 Change.

Brendan Howlin is Labour’s candidate, Ann Walsh is the green party’s and Johnny Mythen is Sinn Fein’s.

While Leonard Kelly is running for the Social Democrats, David Lloyd for Direct Democracy Ireland and Deirde Wadding for People Before Profit /Anti Austerity Alliance.

The newest candidate is John Dwyer who announced today he was running while Paul O’Hanlon has dropped out of the race.

Nominations closed today at midday but candidates can withdraw their names up to noon tomorrow with polling day on February 26th.
