Crc Appeals For Anyone Who Knows Of Incidents Involving Savile At Clinic

CRC APPEALS FOR ANYONE WHO KNOWS OF INCIDENTS INVOLVING SAVILE AT CLINIC

The Central Remedial Clinic is appealing to anyone who has suspicions, allegations or knowledge of complaints regarding Jimmy Savile to get in touch.

The late entertainer visited the CRC in the 1970s.

In a statement Chief Executive Stephanie Manahan says to the best of her knowledge, the clinic has never been made aware of allegations or incidents involving inappropriate or criminal behaviour involving Jimmy Savile.

The Ministers for Children and Health are to meet to discuss Jimmy Savile’s activities here after a series of reports yesterday outlined decades of sex abuse he carried out at 28 hospitals in the UK.

Journalist with the Irish Independent Nicola Anderson interviewed Jimmy Savile at the CRC in 2001, while he was there as a guest.

“I honestly found him very creepy – and I had been one of the ones who had watched ‘Jim’ll Fix It’ and loved him” she said.

“He obviously had a huge ego – and the one line which stood out, which I obviously didn’t include in my written interview for the Evening Herald: ‘you wouldn’t guess how many girlfriend’s I’ve had'” she added.
