The Bishop of Ferns Denis Brennan has announced his retirement
Having reached the age of seventy five his resignation has been accepted by Pope Francis
Bishop Brennan is a native of Rathnure and has been Bishop of Ferns for the past fourteen years
A process is now underway to appoint his successor
