Family Of Dublin Solicitor Fail To Stop Receiver Taking Possession Of Home

FAMILY OF DUBLIN SOLICITOR FAIL TO STOP RECEIVER TAKING POSSESSION OF HOME

The High Court has rejected an attempt by the family of Dublin solicitor Brian O’Donnell to stop a receiver taking possession of their luxury home.

Bank of Ireland is now bringing trespass proceedings against the bankrupt lawyer and his wife Mary Patricia O’Donnell.

The couple claim they have a right of residence at the 7 million euro property on the Vico Road, Killiney which was due to be vacated yesterday afternoon.

The receiver says the O’Donnell parents invited a ‘self styled’ land league on to the private land, members of which have positioned their cars inside the gates.

Cian Ferriter, counsel for the bank, said it was like Brian O’Donnell ‘was some unfortunate tenant cottier who cannot speak for himself’.

The case will return to court this Thursday.
