French Ambassador Visiting Wexford To Develop Tourism Links

FRENCH AMBASSADOR VISITING WEXFORD TO DEVELOP TOURISM LINKS

The French Ambassador will visit Co. Wexford today.

The trip has been organised with a view to improving tourism links between the county and France.

The French Ambassador Jean-Pierre Thébault – along with Isabelle Cohen, First Secretary for the Embassy of France will take in some of what County Wexford has to offer today.

At 10am the group will arrive at Ferns Castle and will be welcomed by the Chair of Wexford County Council, Malcolm Byrne.

Some of those involved with the Castle and the history of the village will also be present and the ambassador will go on a private tour of the attraction with the history of Norman Ferns and Wexford outlined.

Later this morning there’ll be a meeting at Gorey Civic Offices with Wexford County Council Chief Executive, Tourism Officials, Chamber representatives and others to discuss the Norman Trail concept and promoting tourism and business links between Wexford and France.

That will be followed by a welcome reception with French community and business, tourism and arts interests in Co. Wexford invited.

The ambassador’s visit will finish with a trip to local school, Creagh College, Ireland’s newest second level school.
