GOVERNMENT TO LOOK FOR WAYS FOR OLDER PEOPLE TO STAY AT HOME

The government’s set to look at new ways to allow older people and those with a disability to stay at home for as long as possible.

Minister with responsibility for the area Helen McEntee, says a public consultation process is being worked out, although she hasn’t given a time frame for a home care scheme.

Fianna Fail’s Mental Health spokesperson Enniscorthy TD James Brown says its a right that older people should have to be cared for in their own home.
