There were nearly 5000 new cars licensed for the first time in County Wexford last year.
New figures released by the Central Statistics Office which show that there were 142 thousand new cars nationwide last year, an increase of 17% Cars imported rose by 46% in 2016 to 69 thousand. 7 out of ten cars that were licensed for the first time in 2016 were diesel cars. Volkswagen is the country's most popular car brand with over 15 thousand cars sold.
