A two year old child was flown by helicopter to London yesterday to receive an urgent organ transplant operation.
The toddler was brought by ambulance to Waterford Airport escorted by Gardai and transferred to the rescue helicopter Rescue 117 which then flew across England to Heathrow Airport in London. There he was transferred into another ambulance and rushed to hospital to undergo the transplant.
