Aer lingus shareholders to vote on iag deal later
Aer Lingus shareholders are expected to give their backing to IAG's takeover bid at an extraordinary general meeting today. The shareholders are voting on four resolutions - including measures about connectivity guarantees. The poll takes place in private - and the results will be made known to the stock market ahead of IAG's deadline of 5 o'clock this evening. Aer Lingus Chairman Colm Barrington says that if the takeover goes ahead - IAG could be in control by the end of next month.
