Amnesty international ireland welcomes return of seanad over gaza
Amnesty International Ireland has welcomed the return of the Seanad from the summer recess. The group is calling for an immediate arms embargo on Israel, Hamas and armed Palestinian groups. Executive Director and Wexford man Colm O' Gorman says the people of Gaza are under constant bombardment. "Irish people are outraged and furious at the bloodshed and at the inertia at the level of the international community" he said. "The fact that this is allowed to happen time and time again - how many innocent men, woman and children, how many civilians have to die - hemmed in to a territory about one-twelfth the size of Co Tipperary and bombarded day and night before the world says 'enough'" he added.
