Anger over closure of duncannon fort visitor centre
There's been widespread condemnation over the closure of Duncannon Fort. It's believed the decision was taken to shut the visitor centre because of electrical problems. A number of tenants say they haven't been informed while the annual Duncannon Military Re-enactment, which takes place in four weeks time, has had to be cancelled. It will mean thousands of euro in revenue for the local economy will be lost. The event's organiser, Joe O'Toole, says he was only informed of the decision earlier this week. He says a lot of hard work has been put into the centre, including the development of a museum which had to be ripped out yesterday.
