A public meeting in Askamore on the next EU Budget and Common Agricultural Policy has been postponed after late votes were called in the Dáil this evening.
The votes on fuel excise duty cuts require both Minister Thomas Byrne and Deputy Malcolm Byrne to attend, forcing the cancellation at short notice. Alice Doyle was also forced to pull out of tonight's meeting.
The meeting had been due to take place tonight in Askamore Community Centre and was expected to give farmers an opportunity to raise concerns about future CAP funding. A new date is expected to be confirmed.
