Ban on visiting at uhw while trolley figures for wexford go up
A full ban on visiting has been put in place at University Hospital Waterford until Monday. It's in a bid to curb suspected cases of the vomiting bug. It comes as the number of patients on trolleys in the emergency department and on wards at Wexford General Hospital went up by 3 to 15 over the past 24 hours. Nationally the number stands at 401 up 30 on yesterday. However that's down 200 on the 601 people awaiting admission on Tuesday which was a record high. General Secretary of the INMO Liam Doran says the situation is still at a crisis point. He says Wexford General Hospital is wickedly overcrowded with patients losing their privacy and dignity while nurses are overworked.
