Be Emergency Ready Booklets Will Be Sent To Wexford Homes From Next Week

Wexford households will receive their Be Emergency Ready booklets from next week.

Starting from the 21st September, An Post will deliver an essential guide packed with practical advice to help you prepare for emergencies such as severe weather, power outages and water supply interruptions.

The booklet will contain contact details for the emergency services as well as Uisce Eireann, Gas Networks Ireland and the ESB.

The Government were inspired to launch the booklet following the major damage done by Storm Eowyn in January 2025.

The rollout is set to take around 3 weeks with 2.2 million households across the country preparing to get one.

Recipients are encouraged to take time to read the booklet, complete the preparedness checklist and fill in the important information section with details relevant to their household.

The booklet should then be stored in an easily accessible location where all household members can find and use it when needed.

A dedicated website, gov.ie/BeEmergencyReady, will provide ongoing preparedness information. The website also includes downloadable and printable resources from the booklet, including the preparedness checklist and key emergency information pages.

Wexford County Council is urging residents to "keep an eye on your post over the coming weeks and learn how you can be better prepared."
