Burton says community policing 'vital'
The Minister for Social Protection says the development of the community policing model in Ireland is vital. Joan Burton has been responding to the rapid rise in violent deaths this year. Gardai are investigating nine killings in various parts of the country since the start of January, many of which are now before the courts. While none of these crimes are related, a common factor is that the majority have taken place in residential properties.
