The facilities which Slaney Search and Rescue operate from are not fit for purpose
That’s according to local councillor Jackser Owens who is to bringing the matter to Mondays meeting of Wexford County Council
The rescue service have been attending to people who get into difficulty in the river along with carrying out searches along the Slaney for the past thirty years
Jackser Owens says given the vital service they provide to the local community they deserve better and he is determined that they will get get better facilities to operate from
Slaney Search and Rescue is supported by voluntary funding
