Call for serial offenders to be tried before higher court than district court
The Deputy Mayor of Wexford says he believes serial and serious offenders should be tried at a higher court than the district court. Councillor Joe Ryan was speaking as a number of robberies across County Wexford have recently been highlighted on South East Radio's Morning Mix. He says the general public along with the Gardaí are often frustrated when they believe they have a strong case but fail to get a conviction. Councillor Ryan says that more serious cases should be heard at the circuit court or a higher court which has a jury as he believes this may make those brought before the court who are guilty, easier to convict.
