Co. wexford has 5th highest rate of amputations as a result of diabetes
21 people from County Wexford had their legs amputated last year as a result of diabetes. This is the fifth highest incidence of amputees in the country as a result of diabetes after Dublin, Cork, Kildare and Limerick. The HSE is concerned at the rise in the number of diabetics having to have their legs amputated, a situation which is preventable if caught in time.
