County Wexford has had the highest rate of home repossessions in the country outside of Dublin and Cork in the first six months of this year. Figures released by the Court Service show 68 reopossession orders were granted against homes in County Wexford between January and June. These orders were sanctioned at sittings of Wexford Circuit Court. 32 of the orders were for the primary homes of people, while the remaning 36 were for buy to let properties. Nationwide the number of homes being repossessed through the country's circuit courts has trebled in the past year.
