Connick announced as new jfk trust ceo
Former New Ross TD Sean Connick has been appointed Chief Executive of the JFK Trust. His appointment has been confirmed this morning and he takes over from retiring CEO Sean Reidy on May 6th. The Trust was set up to promote the link between County Wexford and the Kennedy family in the US. It was instrumental in setting up the Dunbrody Famine Ship in New Ross and the development of the Visitor Centre at the Kennedy Ancestral home in Dunganstown. Sean Connick told Alan Corcoran on South East Radio's Morning Mix his appointment to the position didn't come easy with a rigorous interview process involved. Sean Connick's appointment as CEO of the JFK Trust means he has to give up politics. He had already begun canvassing for a seat on Wexford County Council in the local elections next month. Sean Connick says he enjoyed his time in politics and was dissapointed to loose his seat in Dail Eireann in 2011.
