County wexford to benefit from new coast guard helicopter
The search and rescue helicopter for the South and South East is being launched this evening. The Irish Coast Guard Sikorsky S92 will be based in Waterford airport, and will be available on a 24/7 basis. The new helicopter will have a greater range than its forerunner, will be able to carry a larger number of casualties and operate in more adverse weather conditions. The launch takes place at 6pm today.
