Despite social housing shortage 118 nama owned properties in co. wexford
Despite the shortage of social housing in County Wexford there are over 100 suitable vacant properties in the county. Details published today identify 118 NAMA owned properties in County Wexford deemed suitable for housing. Currently Wexford County Council say they need 102 properties for social housing but so far only two NAMA properties are in the process of being transfered for this type of housing in the county. Wexford TD John Browne highlighted one such case in Enniscorthy where there was so much red tape surrounding the purchase of houses from NAMA by the council that they were forced to pull out of the deal. He says there needs to be more effort made by the agency to sell properites which could be used for social housing.
