The number of people getting divorced is back to Celtic Tiger levels.
Figures from the Circuit Court show over 4 thousand proceedings were initiated last year, after they dropped to 3 thousand in 2011. The Law Society says couples who split during the recession decided not to get divorced due to money issues. Negative equity and unemployment were key factors, but a rise in house prices is believed to be making people reconsider.
