Education minister to address teachers conferences today
Teachers from across the South East are gathering for their national conferences today. The Education Minister will address primary school teachers this morning at a time when their union says they're more demoralised and disheartened than ever before. Ruairi Quinn is attending two of the three national conferences being held by teachers today. He will address the Irish National Teachers Organisation later, before going to the secondary teachers union the ASTI this afternoon. Meanwhile the Teachers Union of Ireland are also meeting in Kilkenny. Last night, the President of the INTO Brendan O' Sullivan accused Minister Quinn of talking down the education system in the past.
