Full commission of investigation announced into mother and baby homes
The Government's announced a full 'Commission of Investigation' into mother and baby homes. It will have full statutory powers to seek documents and compel witnesses. The wide ranging inquiry will examine all aspects of the running of the homes and won't just be confined to the revelations concerning the former Bon Secour's home in Tuam. Children's Minister Charlie Flanagan says its essential that the facts are established and he's calling on the Catholic church to co-operate.
