Garda in critical condition following new orleans shooting
A garda is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in New Orleans. The Independent.ie has named him as Garda Brian Hanrahan who is stationed in Limerick and from South Tipperary. It's believed he was shot twice during a botched mugging in the city. It's understood the incident happened in the early hours of this morning. He was on holiday in the city with his family at the time.
